Chastity As A VirtueChastity is about one thing: finding, creating and living real love and intimacy in the context of sexuality. Real chastity is a virtue. "Virtue" might not be a word that we use much, but it's easy to understand.Virtue is strength - an interior strength embodied in patterns of thought and behaviour. And strength is the power to do something, make something happen, and so alter the course of things.






Chastity is about one thing: finding, creating and living real love and intimacy in the context of sexuality.

Real chastity is a virtue. "Virtue" might not be a word that we use much, but it's easy to understand. Virtue is strength - an interior strength embodied in patterns of thought and behaviour. And strength is the power to do something, make something happen, and so alter the course of things.

Imagine a large room full of people who don't know each other too well. They're just sitting there, trying to make a bit of conversation, but there are a lot of awkward silences. Now imagine the same room but this time with a live band. The music transforms the atmosphere: people are talking more freely, laughing around and having a great time on the dance floor.

Playing music well is a skill. It requires years of dedication, years of mastering myself and my potential and developing my self-control and ability. And it’s worth it. Music transforms me and the people around me.

Chastity is the same. It's the ability to generate and live love in the context of sexuality - exciting, spontaneous, happy, secure and enduring love. It takes everything that is awesome about sexuality - attraction, desire, fascination, affection, the erotic, fertility - brings it all together in love and intensifies it. If a few minutes of music can transform my mood and emotions, making me want to get up and dance, chastity transforms my entire life. It enriches masculinity and femininity and the interplay between them. It intensifies and perfects the experience of sexuality - others' and my own. And it focuses me on beauty and enables me to love and enjoy that beauty with purity, creativity and certainty.

Chastity is about love. It’s my choice.
